This past Saturday I had the opportunity to catch Theo From GOB do an acoustic set at Modern Love.
GOB is an iconic Canadian punk band that has been active since 1993, hailing from Langley BC. Garnering huge popularity throughout the 2000s. I personally first heard them back in 2021 when I purchased NHL 04.
The track "Oh Ellin" from their 2003 record Foot in Mouth Disease was in the soundtrack for the game, and it caught my attention and I have been a fan ever since. Their song "Give Up the Grudge" was also in the American Wedding soundtrack. This band has always been involved in everything I like.
Over the years I've purchased their CDS and they've become part of the Canadian artists that I love. Such as Our Lady Peace, Sum 41, Treble Charger, Reset and Avril Lavigne.
Meeting Theo was great, he was super nice and shook my hand and even took a photograph. One wishes all rock stars were like this.
Theo played from their earliest discography, such as "Soda" and classic hits like "No Regrets"
Very thankful for seeing him as I missed their full show in October 2023.
